About Bilim

BILIM Uzbek Cultural Centre is a charity registered in England and Wales.

BILIM’s main purpose is to advance education for the public benefit by providing education in Uzbek language.

BILIM was founded on March 2017 by several volunteers from Uzbekistan who currently reside in London and surrounding areas.

During 2017-2020, BILIM operated a supplementary school under the same name to provide education on Uzbek language as well as literature, culture, history and traditions of Uzbekistan to the children who live in England.

In the process of educating the children on Uzbek national traditions, the school also organised the family events to celebrate Uzbek national holidays such as Navro’z, Independence Day, Eid, New Year).

While the supplementary school closed due to Covid-19 restrictions in 2020, BILIM has continued to operate as cultural centre connecting Uzbek people in the UK. BILIM trustees are currently considering to re-open the supplementary school based on strong demand from the Uzbek diaspora in London and surrounding areas.

Activities

Learning Uzbek Language, Uzbek Culture and Traditions.

Uzbek language classes for all ages to enhance communication and cultural understanding.
Explore Uzbek culture, traditions, and history through interactive sessions and workshops.

Vocal and Musical Instruments & Uzbek Cuisine and Cooking Classes.

Vocal and musical instrument lessons, plus traditional dance classes celebrating Uzbek culture.

Participate in cooking sessions to prepare and taste authentic Uzbek dishes.

Coding & Strategic Games Club

Join coding classes designed for different age groups to develop programming skills.

Chess and Checkers Club to boost critical thinking and strategic skills.

Games and Recreational Activities & Events and Celebrations

Engage in various games that promote teamwork and fun.

Participate in family events celebrating Uzbek national holidays such as Navro'z, Independence Day, Eid, and New Year.
